How can I describe our weekend in Sepang if not crazy? After being pushed around by the weather during the first few days of practice, in qualifying, our engine said it was time to say goodbye and left the team with less than 3 hours to replace it. The guys at Villorba Corse didn’t waste any second and set down to work and miraculously allowed us to participate in the race. It meant we had to start from the pits and, therefore, one lap down.

As it wasn’t enough, a proper colossal storm hit the track just minutes before the go, and lightning struck one of the marshall posts on the track (hope for the guys in there everything is fine!) causing a 1.30h delay to the start.
We then finally got to the track in damp conditions. I started the race and fought with the tricky conditions at the beginning, but as the track began to dry, we got better and better and made quite a bit of ground, placing us in P5.

Andreas Laskaratos took over the car and kept on pushing, making his way up to P4 with a great stint. Finally, David Fumanelli jumped in for the last leg and drove like hell to arrive finally to contend for the podium in the very final laps. Unfortunately, a backmarker hit him and ruined our dreams of a podium, causing a puncture.

An undeserved result for us after what we have been through. But the good news is that already this week we got another chance to make it right in Thailand!
